It's the end of the semester, and everything is due.
I just finished the final report for my online teamworking class. I wonder if I could post the report on here. All 13 pages of it.
Anyway, I feel dead. But I can't die yet, I have to finish a report in my Methods Standards and Work Design course, then write a report for my OSHA in the Workplace course. Fun.
Since I can't make a posting without having some sort of video, here is one I thought you might like. It has absolutely nothing to do with anything, but everything to do with Star Wars.

Video Making
Thinking back, I should have done something more like this.
I always secretly liked this show. Even though I never got to watch it.

An update? Oh no, we can't have that.
It seems I am making a pattern of updating once a month. Is that so bad? Is that wrong? Should I update more often?
I've been really busy lately. Church has been keeping me busy this month. We cleaned out the youth area and filled a dump truck completely with junk. It looks a lot better in there. I've also been working on some videos for a series the youth has been doing this month. The theme for this month is the Justice League B-Team. This is a team of superheroes who's powers weren't good enough to let them on the Justice League A-Team (Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, etc...) The Justice League B-Team is comprised of subgrade superheroes like Captain Obvious, Disengaged Man, Captain Vague, ADD Boy, etc... So anyway, I made a couple videos so far. The first one is just a trailer for the series. The second video is the episode 1.
There are two more episodes planned. Hopefully I will be able to make the videos for them as well.

We must prepare for the future.
Guitar Hero III is awesome. Just thought I'd let you know.
Anyway, school has been keeping me super-busy. Leading a project in one class and working on projects in two other classes tends to take up my free time. Free time I could spend playing Guitar Hero III. Stupid school. I should drop out just so I can play Guitar Hero III all day without any interruptions. Just kidding. What I need to do is get my schooling done, so I can get out and get a real job. Make something of myself. Make a future for myself. In order to do that, I need some proper tools. Like one of these:
http://www.gateway.com/systems/product/529667902.php
Now I can see myself using a computer like this to do my homework everyday. Everyday. To be able to write directly into my computer, and organize and search my notes, will make my work so much more efficient and effective. But look at that price tag! Oh, the price of a successful future these days. I guess it's true, you have to have money to make money. (Now comes the shameless plug) You can help me invest in my future.
To invest in Wesley's future just send a check or money order to Wesley Riddle.
OR you can donate by using PayPal. The safe and secure way to pay online. Just set up a PayPal account (it's free and easy), and make a payment to wesriddle@verizon.net
Thank you for any contribution you can give. You won't regret it.
Anyway, school is going well. In my online class we have to survey at least 20 businesses on how they use teams to make decisions. We are almost done creating the survey, so I will get to start surveying soon. Yippee... Then we get write a report on it. Fun. In my Methods Standards and work design class we have to pick a method of production from our first project (which we all already turned in) and conduct a 4 hour work sampling. Measuring the length of time it took to do each step. For 4 hours. That will be fun as well. It would be easier if I had a nice laptop computer to handwrite the notes directly into and then easily organize the data that I collected, but what are ya gonna do? For my other class I'm taking right now, I will have to look at the financial documents of a public business and write a report on it. Not as much fun as the other projects, but just as time consuming (except maybe for the online class project).

A question for the ages.
A hypothetical scenario. You are on the Titanic, and it is sinking. You jump off. Now you are in the water and all that is around you is dead babies. Would you use a dead baby as a buoy?

Please welcome your Team Leader.
In my online team working class, we have to actually work on a project as a team. Online. It's online because more and more businesses are conducting teams over the country or araound the world, and can't meet in person. Anyway, the class has two levels in it, a 200 level and a 300 level class. All the 300 level students (myself included) were candidates to be voted for Team Leader. Guess what. I won the election. I am now officially Team Leader. You may call me Mr. Team Leader from now on. I get to lead my classmates to a victorious A in the class project. Or crash to a flaming ball of fire at the end of the semester. Whichever comes first. Wish me luck.

Batman
The new batman movie is coming out soon. The Dark Knight. It comes out on July 18. I am really looking forward to this movie. It looks really good. They are actually making the Joker the way he is really supposed to be. Here take a look,
This movie is going to be awesome.
Another reason I brought this to your attention is the Heath Ledger (played the Joker) has died of a drug overdose.
What this means is, if there are any more Batman movies starring the Joker they will either have to A. not make them. or B. get a new actor.
It looks like Heath did such a great job with the Joker, I don't know how they can replace him. It will be hard to see a different actor if they make any other movies with the Joker.

If I ruled the world.
If everyone just did everything MY way, then the world would be a better place.
All I'm gonna say.

finally online
I eventually got a reply to my email to WVU. He gave me my usernames and passwords for the areas. Unfortunately they didn't work. So I gave up and called the help number. Eventually I got to a real person, and he reset my password. It STILL didn't work. So he manually set my password to something and let me try it. I had to reset my password first by going to a different site, and then try it, and FINALLY I could get into my MIX account. Then set my Master ID, and finally my ecampus. Now I can take my class.

First frustrations of school
I just went through my first day of school today for this semester. Class went OK, but I am having some difficulties with the online portion of school.
I have 1 online class this semester, which means I have to use the online campus (e-campus) to take the class. Not a problem. I try to login, and then I start having problems. My username and password that I have used for at least 2 years now, no longer works. I try to log in to my Mix account (an email service to the students provided by the school) and my username and password that I have always used there doesn't work either. I talked to my professor about it, and he gives me a link to a website explaining the situation. Apparently WVU has changed all the username and password information for all the students. Yeah, that makes sense. Let's not use information the students already know about logging in, and make them all learn new information every semester. So, I go to the website my advisor directed me to and I learn that I first need to log into my Mix account.
The Mix account is an email service provided to the students by WVU. It is a horrible email service, that won't let you do hardly anything. WVU seems to think that noone has an email account, and everyone will happily use this for all their email. Doesn't happen. Every student already has a separate email that they check regularly. They don't want to have to check another account, let alone one that is atrocious like this one. WVU and WVU-P will only contact you through this email. The bad part about that is 1. nobody checks it regularly. 2. nobody knows how to log in to it. 3. students at WVU-P get a bunch of pointless announcements about events at WVU. I don't go to WVU, I go to WVU-P. Why would I want to know about the WVU game rally going on this Friday? Or the orientation at WVU for whatever? I don't care.
Anyway, I can't login to my Mix account, I've already tried that before. They changed my login info remember? So I click on the help button on their website hoping to find a way to get my username and password. All I get is them telling me that if I have any problems, I need to contact the help desk at WVU with this phone number. Great. Unhelpful, inconvienient, inefficient, and ineffective as usual. Now I'm going to get a machine that won't tell me what I need to know, because they expect everyone to just magically know everything. Well, luckily I found an email option as well. So, I sent them an email instead. Somebody will read an email. Hopefully.
This is what I wrote:
Please, I cannot login to my Mix account and my ecampus. I have tried my log in usernames and passwords from last semester and none of them worked. I have tried every possible combination of all my usernames and passwords I've used on these sites, and none of them have worked. Since you insist on changing this information every semester, I need my username(s) and password(s) for each of these services:
Mix account
e-campus
Master ID
Whenever I can't login or I click on the help button on the sites, they just tell me to contact you. So, please give me the username(s) and password(s) I need so I can actually attend and pass my classes. Thank you.
Thanks for your assistance,
Wesley Riddle
You would not believe how hard it was not to go on a rant telling them how horribly they were managing everything. But I held my tongue... er.. finger. Hopefully they will give me the information I need to know at the email address I actually can use (Yes, I gave it to them). So, now I wait and see.

Here goes for my first post on this blog. I figured if my sisters are going to have a blog, I might as well have one too. This way everyone can just keep up with the whole family. I should probably set some ground work to give you all something to start with.
My name is Wesley Riddle, I am 23 years old, and I am an alco oh wait... Seriously though, I am currently in school at WVU-P pursuing a Bachelors degree in Applied Technology. I already have an Associates degree in Engineering Electronics. I currently am not employed in the field I am studying, but if any of you know of any job openings I might like, let me know. Almost anything is better than Foodland right now. The only reason I am still at Foodland is because I have 2 weeks paid vacation, I am on the good side of everyone there, and they have very flexible hours. Other than that, it's not very good. The main reason I don't like it is because it requires no thought at all. But it's a job, and since our economy is about to go through a recession right now, I might as well hold on to it. That pretty much sums it up for me right now. That should give you a good base to read the rest of my posts.
I plan on updating periodically, just to keep tabs on what's going on. I'll try to keep it exciting.
